Floris Kaayk’s strength lies in his use of documentary film language and in his technical skills. In his early video works he plays with the Discovery Channel documentary format, but with his recent projects Human Birdwings and The Modular Body he moves to a more contemporary medium for information exchange: the Youtube video. Bit by bit and using social media, he releases smartly scripted videos and messages into the world that speak to our imagination and introduce us to his bio-technological dreams.
