Short Fictions
Short Fictions
Science Fiction films are normally epic feature films made with giant budgets, with the successful productions amongst them probably having defined our idea of the future like no other medium. Framed by trailers from the 1950s, the special programme Short Fictions however presents short and epigrammatic visions of the future. Whilst the early experimental classic Yantra, with its semiabstraction and psychedelia, could have pioneered how the cosmos was depicted in other more commercial Science Fiction works, the other films show artistic appropriations of the picture power and unintentionally comical cinematic visions of the future. They reduce this epic format to its least common denominator: the interaction between humans.
