Gilbert Dutertre, presents the Prix Pixel-INA 2000 winners
Imagina, the forum for images beyond imagination, is an event produced by the INA (Institut national de I’audiovisuel) and the Festival de Television de Monte-Carlo. For the last 18 years, Imagina has uncovered territories in the area of images that are beckoning yet unexplored by new technologies. The forum is devoted to the most innovative works in various fields of advanced image technologies such as: computer-generated images and automatic animation, digital production and special effects, intelligent agents and extended reality, games and virtual communities, virtual worlds and cyberspace, webcasting, architectural spaces and medical scanning.
Imagina 2000, in its 19th edition, focuses on 3D and interactive techniques as the current discussion about the convergence of TV and Internet. The event gathers computer graphics artists, designers, movie professionals, software editors, industrials, scientists and service providers. Imagina is acknowledged to be the European ‘rendez-vous’ for image professionals. A cycle of conferences, panels and workshops, convening international specialists, discusses the most remarkable innovations in new image technologies. In addition, the Innovation village of Imagina is an area presenting innovative installations, experiments, applications and products as part of their development programmes created by companies, laboratories and universities.
The Prix Pixel-1 NA is an international annual competition, whose jury of professionals and the public honour the best productions using these new creative tools from around the world. The awards are presented to 2D and 3D Animations, Music Videos, Special Effects, Games and Advertising, to name only a few categories.
For the first time, directly after the Imagina 2000 festival, Gilbert Dutertre, a member of the Innovation village of the Imagina and its development manager, will present the Prix Pixel-INA winners. The screening at the transmediale will show the best ofthe award winning computer-generated images.
