Wars in Europe are no more imaginable? The course of events in eastern Europe and especially the falling apart of Yugoslavia have taught us another lesson, i.e. the “capitulation of reason’’ has made wars and destruction in Europe a potential reality. The Serbs' expansive war in the territory of the Croats defines the objectives in a new way in which the civilians and above all the journalists are the soft target whereas the landscape and architecture are being seen as the hard target of attacks. This is more than animal-like massacring, this is an attempt to destroy one of the oldest civilizations of Europe.
The compilation by Ingeborg Fülepp and Heiko Daxl shows the results of this war in our neighbourhood, where Europe is closing its eyes.
