Years ago Erik Frank Hansen, alcoholic, suffered a relapse after a long period of staying sober but not without confiding in his cassette recorder. In 1991, two video amateurs tried to reconstruct this relapse and to insert these sound recordings into their documentary. They realize how difficult this turns out to be and reflect on their work (“film in film ”) without losing the grip on their subject by sheer intel- lectualism. The result is a remarkable way of treating an issue that is so hard to grasp.
