‘5 Factories - Worker Control In Venezuela' is the second film by Dario Azzellini & Oliver Ressler, which deals with political and social changes in Venezuela. In this work they focus on the transformation in the Venezuelan industrial sector and portray five large companies in various regions: a textile company, aluminium works, a tomato factory, a cocoa factory and a paper factory. Being supported by credits from the government, the workers struggle for different forms of co- or self-management. The protagonists present insights into alternative forms of organisation and differentiated possibilities of workers' control: mechanisms and difficulties of self-organization are explained as well as profane processes of production. In doing so it becomes clear that all of the people involved share in the search for better models of production and living.
