Alison B. Powell

Alison B. Powell is an assistant professor in Media and Communication and the director of the Data and Society Program at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has studied technological cultures for the past ten years, following wi-fi hackers from rooftops to policy conferences, and charting the debates over licensing of open hardware. She is currently working on a book examining oppositional technological citizenships, communication, data, and sensing. She also convenes data walkshops to investigate big data in everyday life.
