As an avatar, the most familiar landscapes are those of video games, social media feeds and search results. Commons is a space created by files submitted by users within the artist’s social network. Participants were asked to contribute video files of their own personal environments - these files were interpreted using software to create 3D polygonal forms, expanding their 2D qualities into rigid structures made from their data. The final landscape is a collapse of bedrooms, sunsets on the beach and desktop screen recordings into a rigid mass of translated information.
