The ResFest festival is only three years old, but already It has gained a cult status. Based in San Francisco, the festival is touring cities like New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Thus far, it has only visited one European city, London. Its own magazine RES is publis­ hed four times a year.
Festival director Jonathan Wells will present several examples of digital film and digital video and will also recall the festival’s history which resulted from the legendary LowRes (Low Resolution) Festival.
Today, ResFest also looks at the future of filmmaking by presenting fascinating scree­nings, panel discussions and hands-on demonstrations of technology. Many movies pre­mier at the ResFest festival and are selected for some of the best international festivals. There are some filmmakers who have attracted the attention of the film industry. The Res­Fest includes these sections: Shorts, Cinema Electrónica, Longform Shorts, and Features. Jonathan Wells will present works from all sections. 47 Hz
