Dorothy of the Day
Dorothy of the Day
Rachel Holmshaw embarked on her musical journey as a singer-songwriter in Australia, cutting her teeth in venues and pubs around Sydney. After moving to the UK in 2003 she began to explore using the voice as an instrument, trying out new textural possibilities by singing through various loop pedals originally designed for guitar. In Berlin, 2009 she released an album of live vocal loops under the 'nom de plume' Dorothy of the Day. With degrees in both multimedia and television/sound production Rachel also works as a video technician and voiceover artist.
