Martin Richartz

Dr. Martin Richartz is computer scientist and got involved in convergence of media early on. He was system architect of the worldwide first inter­active mobile field trial (broadcast and cellular technologies), which Vodafone Group R&D Germany conducted in Berlin in 2004. He also architected the first interactive storytelling format for mobile broadcast in 2006. Previously he was responsible for digital postproduction systems and high-performance networks of the fx.Center in the Babelsberg film studio near Berlin. There he also worked as technical director for the first trial of high-resolution, digital cinema, called “CyberCinema”. Today, he is senior technology manager at Vodafone Group R&D and is responsible for the development perspectives of future mobile digital media and is an active supporter of the societal discourse with technology and content of new media by cooperation with artists in the context of artcircolo.
