“Media Buenos Aires was created at the beginning of the 90's by the following group of videomakers from Buenos Aires: Andres Di Telia, Fabian Hofman, Diego Lascano, Boy Olmi, Carlos Trilnick, Eduardo Milewicz, and Maria Civale. Media is the first and unique creative video distributor in Argentina. It keeps a policy of exchange with institutions promoting video creation in Latin America, and also keeps direct contact with videomakers of the continent. Its bilingual catalogue offers a selection of titles made by the most important videoartists of Argentina. In Argentina, the importance of video as a language is growing without creating a specific style. Some videomakers, at the very beginning, try to explore the electronic characteristics of the support working with video as a unique medium. Others see video as an economic alternative. With the cinema industry fading in the so-called Third World, some people choose video exclusively because it is an audiovisual alternative.
