Upon entering, the visitor is immediately seized by an atmosphere specific to the exhibition space. The entire room is apparently filled up by changing video projections that cloak the viewers in a silhouette of warm light. Ambient electronic music adds to the mood. And that is only the beginning. Various interactive modules allow the audiovisuals to be individually controlled. Via a touch-screen, for instance, visitors can call up the history of writing as a large-format projection on the opposite wall and surf through various periods of history in line with their particular area of interest. A voice, seemingly coming from nowhere, reads aloud the matter normally presented on information panels. Distributed around a number of other counters are computers that permit several visitors at once to take part in a computergame hosting a virtual on-line discussion on the topic of graffiti.
