New State of Mind
New State of Mind
The securitization of the world does not only imply the surveillance of all dimensions of life, which manifests itself on physical borders through analytic surveillance and the sorting or tracing of identities. It also secretly blurs the line between the internal and external security of states, between the police and the military complex. The three conversation partners of this discussion aim to analyze the insecurities that have led to this state of securitization, as well as to understand its consequences. Proposing a new state of mind towards securitization, the discussants will explore emerging artistic and political counter-practices that address the secrecy and uncertainty of information and reach out for new types of political action.
