The medium of video makes it possible to produce works that are nearly Zen-like, it's not surprising that the majority of such tapes are made in Japan. "Sketch of Kyo" is an example of a "concentrated relaxation" utilizing simple and seemingly natural, though highly artificial forms. Its presentation complements what is being presented. Gardens like the one shown here, in "Kare-san-sui" style, offer the Japanese a place in which to relax, to enjoy the art of observing, to ponder over aesthetics and the universe, or, to do nothing at all. This tape is highly recommended for whoever is interested in spiritual enlightenment!
