Thomas Balzer (born 1959) studied at the Kunstakademie Stuttgart. After assisting Robert Wilson, he made his first work for TV for the "Kleines Fernsehspiel" of ZDF. In 1992, after three other works for the same format, he started producting theme nights and TV experiments for arte. He briefly also produced work for independent TV, which was awared with the German Television Award. Until today, Balzer has realised more than 50 documentaries, films and commentaries.
