Claus Blume was born in Seesen in 1958. He  studied art at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste (College of Visual Arts), Braunschweig, under Birgit and Wilhelm Hein. His artistic work is characterised by the search for what is held in common between minimal music, traditional music, and rock music, conveyed in the medium of video. He lives and works in Lower Saxony and Bavaria.
