Finn Brunton is Assistant Professor in Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. He is the author of Spam: A Shadow History of the Internet (MIT Press, 2013) and Obfuscation: A User's Guide for Privacy and Protest (with Helen Nissenbaum, MIT Press, 2015). He is presently working on a history of utopian currencies and digital cash.
