In 1967, Joshua White founded the Joshua Light Show, a group of artists who improvised with then-nascent multimedia technologies to create live projections in concert venues. From 1968 on, the JLS was the resident lightshow at the now legendary Fillmore East, setting the stage for musicians such as The Who, Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Frank Zappa. After performing at Woodstock, White invented Joshua Television, using large screen video projection. Soon thereafter, he segued into a full-time television directing career. White reformed the Joshua Light Show in 2007 with a new team of artists.
