Karimah Ashadu
Karimah Ashadu is a British/Nigerian Artist and Spatial Designer. Currently based in London and Lagos, her approach to art is multi-faceted. She trained as a painter at The University of Reading School of Arts and Communication Design, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and History of Art and Architecture in 2007. She achieved an M.A. in Interior and Spatial Design at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Her current practice is concerned with narration and perspective. This is channelled through the medium of video and performance. The work is supported by objects that are created specifically for these performances. Her work has been screened internationally such as Videoholica Festival in Bulgaria, the AFEFV Festival, Art and Culture Laboratory (KUL) in Croatia, EWHA University in Korea, Wimbledon Space and The South London Gallery, in London.
