E. has a weird hobby: in the privacy of his home, he makes a landscape from pieces of toast, countless kitchen utensils and an electric train set. His girlfriend isn't impressed. When the quarreling starts, E. declares war on his lady-dictator. He goes to London - in order to assemble a 'fleet' he plans to hide in the Alps with - before waging a full-scale attack. This ludicrous story, told with authentic war-footage and astounding props, drifts between the outside world, fantasy and the kitchen - an off-beat and entertaining mixture of documentary footage and staged scenes, supported by an excellent narration. In the end, E. really knows what his girlfriend means to him.
