Dorine van Meel

Portrait of Dorine van Meel.

Dorine van Meel completed her MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College in 2014 and works between Berlin, Amsterdam, and London. In 2014 she became the fourth recipient of the Nina Stewart Artist Residency at the South London Gallery. Her practice is situated within the media of moving image, writing, and installation. Selected solo exhibitions include: “Disobedient Children” at Kunstraum in London (2015), “Between the Dog and the Wolf” at the South London Gallery (2015) and “instead to meet strangers who might change our minds” at the Swiss Church in London (2014). Her interest in discursive practices, feminist methodologies, and self-organised forms of collaborations is reflected within the projects she initiates. These include “Gentle Dust” at Jupiter Woods in London and at ROOM Gallery in Johannesburg (2016), “The Southern Summer School” at BAK in Utrecht (2017), “Luminous Flux” at Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam (2014) and “Does Not Equal” at W139 in Amsterdam (2015).
