transmediale announces that it is seeking to appoint a new Artistic Director to succeed Kristoffer Gansing 

transmediale, one of the most important festivals for art and digital culture worldwide, announces that it is seeking to appoint a new artistic director for the 2021 and 2022 editions of the festival to succeed the current holder of the role, Kristoffer Gansing. Kristoffer Gansing has decided to leave transmediale after nine years with the festival; 2020 will be the final edition under his direction.

transmediale creates a space for critical reflection on cultural transformation from a post-digital perspective. For over thirty years, the annual festival for art and digital culture has been bringing together international artists, researchers, activists, and thinkers with the goal of developing new outlooks on our technological era through the entanglement of different genres and curatorial approaches. Beyond the yearly event, transmediale is a transversal, dynamic platform with a vibrant community and a strong network.

The upcoming edition of transmediale will take place at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin from 31 January to 3 February 2019 and will focus on the role of emotions and cultural emergence within digital culture.

transmediale schreibt Künstlerische Leitung in der Nachfolge von Kristoffer Gansing aus

Die transmediale, eines der weltweit wichtigsten Festivals für Kunst und digitale Kultur, schreibt für die Festivalausgaben 2021 und 2022 eine Künstlerische Leitung in der Nachfolge des aktuellen Leiters Kristoffer Gansing aus. Kristoffer Gansing hat sich dazu entschlossen, die transmediale nach neun Jahren zu verlassen; 2020 wird die letzte Ausgabe unter seiner Leitung sein. Ausschreibung

Die transmediale schafft einen Raum für die kritische Reflexion kultureller Transformation aus einer postdigitalen Perspektive heraus. Seit mehr als 30 Jahren bringt das Festival internationale Künstler*innen, Forscher*innen, Aktivist*innen und Denker*innen zusammen, um in der Verschränkung unterschiedlicher Genres und kuratorischer Formen neue Sichtweisen auf unsere technologische Zeit zu entwickeln. Über das alljährliche Festival hinausgehend ist die transmediale eine transversale, dynamische Plattform mit einer lebendigen Community und einem starken Netzwerk.

Die nächste Ausgabe der transmediale findet vom 31. Januar bis zum 3. Februar 2019 im Haus der Kulturen der Welt statt. Im Fokus steht die Frage, welche Rolle Emotionen und kulturelle Emergenz in der digitalen Kultur spielen.
