Lamis Saidi

Lamis Saidi is an Algerian poet and computer scientist who recently published her first book of poetry entitled: ”as usual I forgot my suitcase”. Translating also French poetry into Arabic, she’s currently working on the translation of the great French poet Henri Michaux. Her new poetic project consists in combining the art of cinema and modern poetry, as being both the result of modernism. Through poems she’s trying to shoot a movie using the camera of the language and the technique of poetic sensitivity. She publishes her work in literary forums, cultural magazines online and in some Arabic papers. She has participated in many literary and cultural festivals in Algeria, the arab world and Europe. Her work has been translated into English, Dutch, Polish and French and published in numerous anthologies of Arabic poetry.
