Can a machine dream? Dreaming is the result of complex interactions between body, thought and memory. During the day, the Dreaming Machine examines its visual context and records stimuli that will then inspire its "musings". Enabled by an artificial intelligence, and a memory model, the system’s free associations, or “dreams”, are shown to the audience. The system externalizes that which usually belongs to the screen of our thoughts.
This video presents a selection of dreams from various "Dreaming Machine #2" installations in Hong Kong, São Paulo and Montréal. From each of these installations, two dreams have been selected.
