Reimar Volker studied Music Education and Performing Arts at Hochschule der Künste Berlin. He received a PhD in Musicology from Technische Universität Berlin. After working in publishing, he was an academic staff member at the Einstein Forum in Potsdam. In 2005, he joined the Goethe-Institut and has been posted to Cairo, Egypt and Kolkata, India. Since 2011, he is based in Seoul, South Korea as Head of Cultural Programs for East Asia.
