A central figure within the contemporary music scene in Finland, Tomi Leppänen has a legendary drumming style. Hailing from Siilinjärvi in central Finland, he is a member of Aavikko, Circle, K-X-P, and Pharoah Overload, besides having played with many international artists, like Omar Souleyman, Rhys Chatham, Thurston Moore, and Yoko Ono. He is also a graphic designer who creates many of Aavikko’s album covers and holds a masters in graphic design from Aalto University.
