Born 1977 in Stockholm Tove Kjellmark studied at the École des Beaux-arts in Perpignan, France, from 1999 till 2000 . From 2000-2003 she attended Konstskolan Idun Lovén in Stockholm, Sweden, and got her MFA, Royal University College of fine arts. In her work she explores the contradictory in the human experience, where the person in relationship to the machine serves as a foundation. The examination of the existential moves between extremes, where the interplay between object and subject stands in focus. Tove enjoys creating conflicts between feeling and intellect in order to approach pain thresholds and expose psychological defense mechanisms.
