Victoria Estok has a dual background in sound art and environmental work. Before pursuing sound, she worked as a committed environmental educator and advocate in both urban and backcountry settings. It was during this time that she became aware of a deep seated need to uncover the intentions behind everyday actions. She expresses emotional undercurrents and ideas through sculpture, sound, and electronics. She is active in her hometown community of Roosevelt, New Jersey organizing sound art in untraditional ways.

She has also rowed through real life crocodiles and successfully tied canoes together with her shirt to lead others to safety during a hurricane on Lake Pontchartrain.
