transmediale, in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada Berlin and the Marshall McLuhan Salon are presenting a key weekend event celebrating the legacy of Canadian media philosopher Marshall McLuhan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. Part of the McLuhan in Europe 2011 network of events initiated by transmediale, Berlin’s Centennnial Weekend will take place May 27 - 29 at the Embassy of Canada and Marshall McLuhan Salon.

In the lead up to transmediale.11, Adam Hyde of FLOSS Manuals facilitated a team of six core authors in an intensive 5 day Book Sprint to produce transmediale's newest 'parcours' edition An Open Web. The book, which is meant to initiate debate about what an open web can and should be, will be available in a limited edition for sale at the festival!

Kurz vor der transmediale.11 hat Adam Hyde von FLOSS Manuals einen Book Sprint veranstaltet, in dem sechs Teilnehmer in fünf Tagen intensivster Arbeit die Publikation An Open Web aus dem Boden gestampft haben. Das Buch soll die Diskussion über das offene Netz anregen und ist in limitierter Auflage druckfrisch auf dem Festival erhältlich!
