Die transmediale ist Teil des Projekts DCA (Digitising Contemporary Art), welches von der Europäischen Kommission finanziert wird, bestehend aus 25 Partnern aus 10 EU-Mitgliedstaaten und 2 assoziierten Ländern, Kroatien und Island. Innerhalb der Laufzeit des Projekts wird die transmediale bedeutende Werke aus ihrer 25-jährigen Geschichte digitalisieren und das DCA Projekt als Plattform für den Aufbau, die Verbreitung des entsprechenden Online-Archivs sowie den Zugang auch über Europeana, dem zentralen Portal für das kulturelle Erbe Europas, verwenden.

transmediale has been accepted into DCA (Digitising Contemporary Art), a project funded by the European Commission, comprising 25 partners from 10 EU member states and 2 associated countries, Croatia and Iceland. Within the lifespan of the project transmediale will digitise important works from its 25 year long history and use the DCA as a platform for building, disseminating its online archive and making it accessible also through Europeana, the single access point to Europe's cultural heritage.

Der Free Culture Incubator ist eine Plattform rund um selbständiges kreatives Arbeiten, mit Fokus auf die Freie Kultur bzw. das Open Web. Dabei geht es um Formen der Zusammenarbeit, neuen Ansätzen in Richtung Autorenschaft, Eigentum und Verteilung von kulturellen Werten sowie der ökonomischen Perspektive dahinter. Der Free Culture Incubator wurde von Ela Kagel während der transmediale.10 ins Leben gerufen und wächst nun immer mehr zu einem eigenständigen Projekt mit verschiedenen inhaltlichen Formaten heran.
