"Floppy Films - no more than 1.44 MB of moving image" was an intense three-days workshop at transmediale 2012. Ten international participants learned the techniques of squeezing short films on floppy disks.

Zwei Wochen nach Festivalende läuft in den transmediale-Büros alles wieder nach Tagesordnung, auch wenn wir noch in den Erinnerungen schwelgen.

The reSource for transmedial culture team would like to thank warmly all the participants and visitors! Two weeks after transmediale 2k12, things are getting back to normal in the transmediale office, even though there is still a general feeling of both reveling and melancholia in the air. It was a great festival and a big success for all of us!

For the Vilém Flusser Residency Programme for Artistic Research 2013 jury members Kristoffer Gansing, Marcel Rene Marburger and Lioudmila Voropai have selected the new resident Pinar Yoldas and her project An Ecosystem of Excess.

An Ecosystem of Excess is an attempt to create a post-human eco-system, a living community of speculative organisms and their environment. The project takes the idea that we are surrounded by "man-made extreme environments" as its starting point. A man-made extreme environment is a site of excess, where leftovers of our capitalistic desires and consumerist actions are accumulated.

Neben Vorträgen, Panels und Präsentationen von Kunstprojekten wird das reSource Programm auch zwei Performances beinhalten. Die erste wird bereits am Eröffnungsabend stattfinden.

In the reSource programme, together with talks, panels and artistic presentations, some performances are taking place. At the opening night, Morten Riis will construct and play his Steam Machine Music, a homebuilt mechanical instrument made mostly from vintage Meccano parts.
